To think sauna comes before shower?

Have I been getting it all wrong? I'll admit I'm an infrequent gym-goer, but I always thought, since a sauna gets you all sweaty you go in between workout and shower.

I went to a busier gym than I've been in before today and everyone was going from shower to sauna (including one lady who was in there bare-arse naked, de-fuzzing herself, legs akimbo with an epilator Shock).

Have I been committing a serious faux pas by getting in the shower afterwards?

Sauna followed by cold shower for me - although I normally rinse the sweat (or chlorine if I've been swimming) off before going in the sauna.

Don't think you need to worry about commuting a faux pas when there's someone in there defuzzing her lady bits! That should never be done in a public place! And I'm with you on sauna first - unless they intend to shower a second time after they get out of the sauna? X

Apparently yes, you have been getting it all wrong.

You should still get a cold/lukewarm shower afterwards, though.

EuroShagmore · 14/01/2013 15:10

Ew, stinky!

It should be:
Workout
Shower
Sauna
Quick cold shower
Sauna
Proper shower

ResolutelyCheeky · 14/01/2013 15:13

Please tell me that was a ladies (?) only sauna? Shock

PureQuintessence · 14/01/2013 15:16

Euuuu, you shower before you go in!
Then shower again afterwards.

No hair removal in there though!

HyvaPaiva · 14/01/2013 15:30

You always go in a sauna clean. So it's definitely - as everyone else said - shower (to get clean) then sauna, then very cold and quick shower for the effects of the sauna, back in the sauna, leave sauna, proper shower.

Florabeebaby · 14/01/2013 15:51

HyvaPaiva, are you a fellow Finn? :)

You are right, of course.

ElphabaTheGreen · 14/01/2013 16:20

Ah, see, I've been going swim, rinse-off in pool-side shower, sauna (with swimsuit on and epilator at home, have a good stretch while in there), proper shower. I didn't mean I was going in there in my sweaty togs, minging it all up.

Yes, it was a ladies-only sauna but really and truly...and it was entirely glass fronted

She was defuzzing in the sauna??? Surely that's not allowed?!

ElphabaTheGreen · 14/01/2013 18:14

I thought it was a little hazardous (not to mention distasteful).

She could be doing multiple sauna/showers.. I do that, sauna shower sauna shower ect :)

Although I don't defuzz myself.... Eww. Surely the gym has signs up not to do that? Maybe her shower/bath at home aint working Grin
