Have just had the worst leaflet through my door I have ever seen from "MyArea for Marriage", imploring me to write to my MP to protest about marriage becoming a genderless institution. Best claims include "Kids need a mum and dad" and "people will lose their jobs for supporting traditional marriage". Whilst I love free speech, I have never been so annoyed by my doormat.

Yanbu at all I would have fumed at that. They didn't even have the courage to knock on the door and debate it out. Spineless bigoted twunts.

I got an email from a woman at school inviting me to go to a talk by a paediatrician, a philosopher and a psychologist about the impact of gay marriage on children. Apparently, I should attend because I will be shocked by what they say.

In the uk marriage is a legal institution, not a religious one. Why is it so important for people to argue about something that will have no impact on them if they dont want to marry someone of the same sex?

I can't understand that way of thinking at all. I think marriage is really important,I also think everybody who wants to get married should be able to. Shouldn't even be an issue.

A friend once told me that a woman took a petition against gay marriages into her weightwatchers meeting and asked everyone to sign it! She soon got kicked out.

Alisvolatporpiis - I guess I support their right to hold their horrible views so I won't complain about the leaflets being distributed, but I will rant about how wrong they are

Frankly, I would prefer to have a campaign against advertising leaflets, newsletters, pizza leaflets and anything else being pushed through our letterbox without being pushed all the way through so the letterbox closes again. Why should they be allowed to open our letterbox and leave it open for the cold to get in or warmth to get out?

Reason for not welcoming / discouraging gays into religion is mainly (fluffed up into 'god says its bad') due to increase the population and therefore the number in said religion.
