I think I am right in saying that early speech development in a toddler is not reflective of super high intelligence in a young toddler. Am I?

My aunt didn't speak until she was four - at which point she used complete sentences. She's gone on to get to consultant standing in two different (unconnected) branches of medicine in the States.

Einstein didn't speak until he was 4 and when he did it was to complain his soup was cold. Grin

Thank you. My 17 month old dd speaks in sentences and certain family members seem to think I should be working on her application to Mensa. I'm a bit fed up of being told that I should 'act now' in order to 'nurture her gifts'. I am a teacher so I know the value of education, but she is a baby ffs!!
