BarredfromhavingStella · 09/01/2013 22:18

Should have left it a couple of weeks, that's what I'm doing-the scales are not your friend in January Grin

MrsTerryPratchett · 09/01/2013 22:19

7 pounds, I'm back to Weight Watchers Grin

ilovepowerhoop · 09/01/2013 22:19

I was shocked and disgusted with myself too and am trying to avoid all the kids selection box chocolates/crisps, etc

StuntGirl · 09/01/2013 22:23

I put some weight on too. All part and parcel of a good Christmas I say! Grin

Cindermummy · 09/01/2013 22:23

I had to work myself up to do it cos I'm going back to my diet and exercise tomorrow so I needed a starting point ... Well it was the kick in the ass I needed to motivate me Hmm anyone else trying to loose weight I'd love to hear your progress Smile

I'm leaving the weigh in until 31st January!

I know I didn't eat that much more than I usually do. Not big on sweet stuff anyway, but I did spend far too much time sitting on my arse watching films and surfing the internet!

I figure, I'll lose at least 4 or 5lbs, just going about my busy life again.

SageYourResoluteOracle · 09/01/2013 23:42

Cindermummy I gained 4lbs (I seriously thought I would've gained more!)

I have been doing weight watchers online for the last week and have, miracles of miracles, lost 4lbs already! I think it must've been fluid. I've also been running again as I used to run 5ks/10ks and have also done a couple of half marathons back in the day.

Anyway, I still have 26lbs to lose after having DD . . . she's 18 months.

TheBrideofMucky · 09/01/2013 23:52

Three Christmas pounds here. Grin

Plus five pounds left over from dc2 (

I'm getting married this summer and want to look my best so am on a serious fitness drive now using My Fitness Pal to track calories and doing the Insanity programme.

howdoo · 09/01/2013 23:56

What is Insanity like, Mucky? DH and I have borrowed it from a friend, but are too scared to put it on!

StuntGirl · 10/01/2013 00:32

I'm not going to diet as such just doing a bit more exercise and watching what I eat for the next month or so. So I'll be eating normally, just no more tins of chocolates everywhere to tempt me (although we do have some cheese and biscuits still in...)

TheBrideofMucky · 10/01/2013 00:55

The first few days really hurt Grin.

I've never sweated so much in my life and I thought I was pretty fit (ha!) but it is getting easier. I'm only two weeks in and amazingly haven't lost any weight yet despite throwing myself round the living room for forty mins a night at breakneck speed but from what I've read on tinternet, the first month is where you build muscle and the second month is the fat burning bit.

So hmmm. I'm going to stick it out and just bloody well hope it's worth it!

SomersetONeil · 10/01/2013 01:19

I've put on a fair bit since December. Not good. Took bull by horns on Monday and am back on MyFitnessPal.

No postponing it, since it's summer here - bathing suits can't be avoided forever!

ChippingInNeedsSleepAndCoffee · 10/01/2013 01:40

Scales... I'm not sure I'm up for such a brave act. certainly not tonight I think I'll wait until the weekend - I think they're going to say 'Ouch - get off you fat bastard!' :(

howdoo · 10/01/2013 02:30

Am the same, Mucky, I run 25-30 miles a week so am relatively fit, but still scared of Insanity! Will give it a go.

Cindermummy · 10/01/2013 12:21

Haha chippingin .. I watched a clip of that insanity on youtube scared me shitlessGrin .. I have my personal training tonight and I'm planning on doing it twice a week also 40 minutes of walking daily and cutting out crap during the week . Hopefully the weight will shift iv 28 pounds to loose(sounds better than 2 stone) Grin

OP posts:
villagegossip · 10/01/2013 12:33

Yup - me too! Need to shift about a stone and a half which has crept on slowly. So cross that I didn't crank up the exercise earlier. I do loads too! Sad

Started back on my fitness pal and ordered 30 day shred yesterday. Have run every day so far this week and also got back on x-trainer and exercise bike last night for half an hour. Am determined to shift the lard Blush

SamuelWestsMistress · 10/01/2013 14:24

I refuse to stand on those bastard things, but my clothes do feel a little tighter so i reckon I've put on about half a stone at least!

I've started the couch to 10k and have even entered my first race! I'm trying very hard to be good but I'm so bloody hungry all the time at the moment. I'm going to have to reduce my carb intake for a while to kick start things as ideally I'd like to lose two stone by summer, but its tough and the exercise alone wond to anything for me at all!

TheBrideofMucky · 10/01/2013 16:11

It's the hunger that gets me! I can be doing really well, small amounts of healthy food quite often but then before I know it, I'm starving and craving sugar and rampaging through the cupboards before I even have time to check myself. And then I've eaten half a packet of biscuits in thirty seconds. Which are now banned from the house. Sad

Zalen · 10/01/2013 16:29

First post-Christmas weigh in tonight, it will not be pretty! Ten days of doing nothing except looking after sickly DS2 who caught whatever bug has been going round and was flat out on the sofa for most of Christmas. There were all the Christmas goodies and someone had to eat them! Now I'm back at work and finding that all the bad habits I'd kicked, free biscuits and sodas, are back in full force so I'm going to have to try to kick them all over again!

Still I've been at MMA class the last 3 nights, sweating like a pig though each one, hopefully they'll have helped some.

Before Christmas I lost 2 stone in 3 months, over the festive period I managed to put back on 5 pounds, wasn't bothered as I knew I could shift it and get back on track. I weighed myself yesterday and have lost all that I have put on plus a little bit more. My goal is lose 21lbs before March(my birthday) then possibly a further 2 stone after that but I will stop when I feel right.
I've managed to find a way of eating healthier that I am happy with and I am slowly learning what I can and can't eat and how it effects me. My DH has said that he has seen a difference in me, I'm happier.

StuntGirl · 10/01/2013 19:42

Does anyone have am n exercise bike and are they any good? I'd prefer a treadmill but my boyfriend has his eye on a bike, to be honest I'm not fussed either way. Any recommendations?

DharmaBums · 10/01/2013 20:23

10 here Shock didn't know that was possible in a week. DH the same Back to WW this week

porridgewithalmondmilk · 10/01/2013 20:28
