New spring catalogue has arrived. I'm avoiding anything described as 'hotpotch' Hmm but must admit that some of the knitwear looks good.

But why must the female models be made to look simpery and vacuous while the male models seemingly get away scot free?

I now know what makes Becka giggle and that Gertrude wants to learn French

Vanessa thinks that Spring feels like a bunch of flowers and I fear that Alyssa will soon pitch up on the Stately Homes thread (in her Oversized Linen Tee) because she doesn't like to be told she is acting like her mother

Simon on the other hand gets to pose in his Italian Stallion Shirt ok he looks quite nice but that is HARDLY the point

Grrrrrrr

Yeah, it used to be funny, 15 years ago, and original. But now it's just Y-A-W-N. And why can't they get models with boobs? Some of these tops are gorgeous but all the models are flat-chested so you can't tell if the clothes will look good on anything bigger than an A cup.

Pixieonthemoor · 09/01/2013 16:06

Agree with the boob comment - the tops which look lovely and not at all indecent on the a-cup model instantly morph into busty serving wench with overtones of Carry on when I try them on!!

I wish (and it isn't just Boden) that if you sell clothes up to (say 18) that you use models up to the clothes size. It doesn't take a genius to make clothes look good on a thin model.

Go on Johnny boy, do it, use a mix of different size models. We in the home counties aren't going to faint away with the shock.

wriggletto · 09/01/2013 20:12

It's particularly annoying with Boden because when it started, they did use average-sized models - in fact, they made a huge deal about how they were their mates, because they couldn't afford to pay for models. Which is maybe why, now they can afford them, they've tried to stick with that matey ' Delphine hates her squinchy little nosey' info, while draping their Hotchpotch Jazzy School Run Pants on ever skinnier girl-women.
