To feel that someone always wants something from me?

Okay I can understand my DC needing me during the day but come the evening when they are in bed its dh or my mother or dh mother or my sister, there's always someone needing me.
Tonight I really wanted to tell my mother to leave me alone when she came over to chat cause there was nothing on TV. I had been upstairs, just lying on my bed when she came in and kept shouting up the stairs at me to get up. Of course me not wanting to annoy her just got up. That's my problem,I never want to annoy anyone.
How do I tell them to feck off in a nice but direct way?

Lock your doors?
unplug the phone
turn off FB
Switch off the mobile.

However, family poppping in and out if you are in that close a community is normal, but so normal that you should be able to say 'Im having an early night'

Get in the bath. I find that it's the only place that I can lock the door and switch off, not to be disturbed.

I can't even cope at the moment with he cats needing me once DC are in bed and chores done etc, sometimes you NEED to be alone, or at least I do!

People only treat you like this if you let them. You need to make it clear you're not at your mother's beck and call. In your shoes I would have stood at the top of the stairs and said "I'm going to bed, can you call in future if you want to come over?" and just walked off. No one ever assumes they can take my time - I am treated with respect because I demand it.

Go out.

It is so bloody annoying, you give everything to the DC and then when they are finally in bed, to be asked to give more is just Not On.

Even the cat standing by the side of the island giving me the miaow and feedme eyes pisses me off royally come 9pm.

Some people have households where others are in and out like yo-yos. Even those who encourage it do like the odd bit of time to themselves.

I quite miss the in-and-out stuff now theres no one left to come in and out ..... mind you I like my own time too

hard to please
