eBay Grrrr

I am selling DVDs on eBay. Postage is marked uk only. Just before the auction ends the current highest bidder asks if I will send to Cyprus. I say yes but that I will have to work out what the cost is.

Buyer wins 4 DVDs and asks me for invoice which I provide. He then informs me that I must use actual stamps when I post the parcel as his son collects them!

So not only waiting til the last minute to ask about posting abroad he then dictates exactly how I pay for postage. AIBU to be a bit pissed off?

You know you don't have to do as he says? :)

MissyMooandherBeaverofSteel · 08/01/2013 21:31

Just post as you normally would, not worth getting het up over a request that you can easily refuse.

AnneElliott · 08/01/2013 21:34

I know I can just post it normally ( once he actually pays that is) I just thought what a cheek to insist on stamps!

And what is it with freecycle? Two people this evening not turned up to collect as arranged. I also understand why some people put on their posts that only polite w-mails will be answered

Next time you list (I think you can only do it on Advanced Sell form), make an exceptions list in the postage section and tick everywhere! Then it won't be available to buyers from overseas.

IceNoSlice · 08/01/2013 21:40

Not sure what the problem is about stamps- it would cost you the same? You could just get the post office assistant to give you £x of stamps instead of the sticker? Quite sweet, really- collecting them for his son.

AnneElliott · 08/01/2013 22:04

I'm going to feel bad if I don't do it, and it probably won't make a difference to the price- just thought it cheeky. It's not something I would do myself.

I don't see how it inconveniences you in any way so why not do it?

oldraver · 08/01/2013 22:42

Stamps you would have to go to the Post Office for.... lots of people that use Ebay print off the postage, so it would be an inconvenience if thats how you worked

IceNoSlice · 09/01/2013 10:19

Ah oldraver that makes sense.

I think he's taking the piss. But I'd comply because of feedback. Then block him.
