To think this was really inappropriate?

Was looking after DNephew (3) this morning and took him and DS I over to my parents house. Me and my dad have never got on but I'm there a lot to see my mum.

Was in the bathroom helping DNephew go to the toilet and my dad walked in and said to him 'ooh I've never seen your willy before!'

Aibu to be creeped out and think this was a really inappropriate thing to say?

Depends on your dad really.

I don't think it's anything to remark upon...I can imagine my mum saying the same for example. It's just a silly funny thing to say.

It's either a case of us not knowing enough about your dad to realise the gravity of his words, or you are allowing your dislike to cloud your judgement.

From what you've said I think it sounds innocent enough.

SneakyNuts · 08/01/2013 16:42

A little bit odd, yes Confused

Feminine · 08/01/2013 16:43

An unusual post.

pigletmania · 08/01/2013 16:43

Yes it is inappropriate, I would not be comfortable with that comment

AnneNonimous · 08/01/2013 16:46

Sorry maybe I didn't elaborate enough. Nothing to make me think my dad is creepy in the past so perhaps I read too much into it because we don't get on.

Just wondering if it stands as a creepy comment on its own without any backstory I guess.

Bit weird I'd say. The little boy might start showing it to people now, which might be a bit embarassing.

MissyMooandherBeaverofSteel · 08/01/2013 16:48

I've seen Anne post before proud

Its not really creepy, maybe slightly inappropriate but if its a one off I wouldn't think anything of it tbh.

Sirzy · 08/01/2013 16:48

Odd comment but I wouldn't find it creepy.

Hullygully · 08/01/2013 16:52

That is DISCUSTING and PERVERTED

He is a PEDOHAEMOPHILIAC

AnneNonimous · 08/01/2013 16:53

Is my post really that strange that I'm being troll hunted? Oh dear!

Well it depends on your Dads relationship with your nephew, I tell my DS3 whos 5 that I see his willie too much!

AnneNonimous · 08/01/2013 16:56

He hardly sees DN as my sister doesn't talk to him, so only when he's with me which isn't too often.

I guess maybe creepy was over the top but definitely inappropriate I feel.

Sister doesn't talk to my dad, not her son!

I don't really read anything creepy into it. Maybe your Dad was a bit embarrassed to walk in (unsure why but people are sometimes) and just said it on the spur of the moment?

squoosh · 08/01/2013 17:04

If your Dad's not a creepy person well then it isn't a creepy comment. Maybe he was a bit embarrassed and said the first thing that came into his head. Maybe he was bonding in a blokey way with the child.

I wouldn't worry.

lljkk · 08/01/2013 17:09

It's meaningless to me. Wouldn't bother me at all.

AmberLeaf · 08/01/2013 17:13

A bit ill judged.

AlexanderS · 08/01/2013 17:14

Taken solely on its own, it's odd but not alarm bells odd. People do blurt out random shit out of embarassment.

I remember once when I was changing DS's nappy when he was a baby my BIL kissed him on the bum. It was the kind of thing mums do all the time, he said something like 'Aw, look how scrumptious that bum is, I've got to kiss it'. It was kind of incongruous coz it's not really what uncles do and I was a bit Confused, but it was only the one time and it seemed to be on the spur of the moment, I would say this is like that.

Lovelygoldboots · 08/01/2013 18:18

Lovelygoldboots · 08/01/2013 18:19
