Ok, Aibu in wanting a nearly 3 yr old to go to bed and SLEEP
I have just put DS to bed again with my crossest mummy voice, he is distraught because his power bracelets toilet roll wrist guards are broken !
He doesn't nap during the day , hasn't, for ages and wakes up at 5.45 .......
I did walk away smirking at his fast skeddadle back to bed!
Seriously advice would be taken, tho of you say Aibu I don't care as I am on my 2nd glass of s.comfort and ginger of the night, (lightweight)

No advice but you are not alone DD aged 3 takes about 1 hour to go to sleep.

they need time to settle - dd3 is just 4 and is allowed to read her books etc for 30mins before I put the lamp out - she is normally asleep by then

I an guessing you don't fall asleep as soon as you go to bed - kids need wind down time

as long as mine don't bother me - or each other I let them faf!

Me to dd is currently telling her babies a story, she isn't running about she is playing quietly. No doubt will fall asleep soon

DD aged 5 is now pretty good at bedtime - we still get thirsty/hungry/eyes won't close/too dark etc. But she is generally quiet by 7.30 and doesn't wake until 6.30/7 We have a gro clock for her, and the rule is she isn't to come down until the sun is on it, and normally she doesn't.

DS is 2.5 and wakes between 4am and 6 though and has been know to stay awake until 9pm, I have no idea how to fix him, he is too young to be bribed/blackmailed into staying in bed..

I,m telling ya, it's like 24 hr party in his bedroom, I wouldn't mind singing, laughing , chatting mumbling, but its constant opening doors, constant going to the loo, it sounds like world war 3 in there,,,lol

DD was upset at bedtime a few days ago because her loo roll watch got wet.

We always leave DD with a book and her lamp on, and turn the lamp off on our way to bed. Very rarely does she snuggle down and go straight to sleep.

I'm very slow at typing on this phone. Not really sure what to advise if he's running around...

DS (he'll be 3 next month) told me he was too excited for sleep cuz he starts back to playgroup tomorrow.

Took him 90 mins... but I think he's settled now...

When I had that problem, a work colleague suggested this: after lights out, stay for a cuddle for 2 minutes. Then say, if you stay in bed and try to sleep, when I come back in 10 minutes, you can have another cuddle for 2 minutes, and so on. This worked at the time but has caused problems since the birth of dc2 and he now often takes up to an hour to nod off. I find the whole thing very stressful so you have my sympathy .

Of course the main problem was that I always used to fall asleep next to him!

Yes, I often am asleep before ds, but it is lively snuggling, poor dd, she is his older , sister,who just gets straight down to rest.
All is quiet in party land, I have just listened at the door, too scared to actually open it. The truth is , he was actually knackered tonight, so shouldn't hae been a party animal at all,
Sigh -I just need one tenth of his energy.
Still ladies, I am clearly not alone!
