Hi all,
Ok so more of an am i being soft than aibu!
I need to sort some long term contraception out, just had dc2 and think that's me done but not 100 percent.

Can anyone tell me honestly how much it hurts having the implant put in, and then taken out! I'm not usually soft at all but this is really worrying me!

Thanks for reading.

Doesn't really hurt as they give you a local. Bit of tugging, bit uncomfortable.

It doesn't hurt at all having it put in, they give you a good local. You'll be a bit sore the day after but nothing major, more like a nasty bruise, tender to the touch, rather than pain as such.

They take it out under a local too, I really didn't feel it.

My arm was quite sore for 2-3weeks after insertion (sorry).
I'm convinced it doesn't hurt much if you are fat (sorry to sound fattist). It's just that if you have fat arms there's plenty of fat to put it in, whereas my skinny arms it had to sit on muscles.
Almost no discomfort having it out.
That was 8 yrs ago & maybe they are better at insertion now.

Better get down there whilst I'm still a bit of a fatty then! I knew there was a reason iv not bothered doing anything about it yet!
