Mildew on work top uniform - work on Monday

I work as a kitchen assistant and yesterday when I took my uniform to the dry cleaners it had mildew all over the work tops. I didn't realise until then. Dry cleaners said they will do their best with it but if it doesn't come out what should I use on it?

Does your uniform need to be dry cleaned? That doesn't seem very practical for a kitchen assistant! If not, a soak in vanish prior to a normal machine wash should do the trick - my Ds came home from uni with mildewed footie tops (he's just slung them in the washing all damp an sweaty - eeurgh!), and vanish worked a treat.

Oxy-clean mixed to a paste with water and an old toothbrush, scrub then throw it through the machine.

Biotex - butchers use it to soak their overalls - it gets rid of most things.\

Also, soda crystals are a fraction of the price of whiteners, and clean your machine, pipes and are far more eco friendly.
