Am staying in hotel overnight with my 3 ds's after visiting family. Ds has just thrown up over bed and floor etc and just gone straight back to sleep. I have cleaned up as best i can but its not perfect.
I guess i need to tell hotel in morning so room can be cleaned properly.
Will the hotel charge for this or is it just expected.
Any advice on what happened if this happened to you.
Thank you.

It has not happened, but I don't think they'll charge for this.
It's a genuine accident.

JustCallMeDavesHorse · 03/01/2013 01:18

Where are you? Might depend if they're used to it or not! Accidents happen. I'm sure if they see it's not a hen/stag do etc and you've tried to tidy up, it'll be ok

I had this when we were on holiday a few years ago and the hotel never batted an eyelid, it was an accident and we weren't charged. I also worked as a chambermaid once upon a time and I can assure you there are a lot worse things that get cleaned up than a bit of sick

So i guess i just tell them in the morning. Shame we will have to go straight home. Was looking forward to a nice cooked breakfast but main thing is that ds is ok. Thank you. Hotel is big chain btw.

Leave a note explaining and a good tip for the maid.

tenby84 · 03/01/2013 20:48

Thank you. All good. Apologised and receptionist barely batted an eyelid.

Call the night porter now and ask for fresh linen straight away. You wouldn't dirty covers on a bed at home or not mop the floor straight away at home. A hotel, especially a chain, wouldn't expect you to either.

gordyslovesheep · 03/01/2013 21:16

contact reception now and get them to give you a bowl, clean bedding and something for the carpet - and you may have to pay for additional cleaning

I worked in house keeping and cleaning puke was considered additional duties - most guests left the rooms puke covered and had to be chased by management

HOWEVER given your situation is not due to being a pissed up GI adult who can;t take German beer I think they would be more sympathetic x
