so last year was hell for many reasons. This year was going to be our year. At just past midnight we were sat in bed watching the fireworks on iplayer and the bed broke. I feel fat and upset now :-(
So am I being unreasonable to hide in bed for all of 2013 so nothing bad happens to me?

Laugh it off!!!

ZebraInHiding · 01/01/2013 00:55

You can't hide in bed if it is broken! :) you will be fine. Sorry you have had a shitty year :( all the best for 2013 though!

Bingdweller · 01/01/2013 00:56

That's a bit shite angrypants Mattress on the floor, won't do you any harm for a bit xxx

SarahWarahWoo · 01/01/2013 00:58

Sex on the floor is better than on a soft bed.......happy New Year!

Mrangrypants · 01/01/2013 00:58

It's not broken anymore, I just fixed it.. The screws were so short it's a wonder it supported the mattress let alone us... Tomorrow we will get longer screws, fix it properly and 2013 will be awesome...

NotAChocolateRaisin · 01/01/2013 00:58

Broke the bed, hey? Wink welcoming in the new year in style? Grin

Don't feel like a failure, think of all you've achieved this year and plan ahead for this years goals

That's lovely :) A very happy 2013 to the pair of you. It's certain to be awesome if it's got you in it.

littlemissangrypants · 01/01/2013 01:01

SPBInDisguise · 01/01/2013 01:02

what is wrong & can it be fixed?

Ruprekt · 01/01/2013 01:02

longer screws - that is what you need LMAP!!

Grin

You sound lovely MAP!!

SPBInDisguise · 01/01/2013 01:03

not the bed, I mean in general

TheHoneyDragonsDrunkInTheIvy · 01/01/2013 01:03

That's because your side is where all the hot action occurs. It's rattling that damages the frame not weight Wink

littlemissangrypants · 01/01/2013 01:06

oh god you are totally right honey dragon. Fell much better and have almost forgiven mr angry pants. Thank you. Mumsnet has been a huge help and my lifeline when i needed it. Maybe 2013 wont be so bad after all. I'm still going on a diet. Am 15st and getting bigger. Fingers crossed mr angry pants will help

(unless you're lms, in which case you've already been...sorry if I am mixing up the name changes)

TheHoneyDragonsDrunkInTheIvy · 01/01/2013 01:09

Longer screws in 2013 will help with the weight loss

blackeyedsusan · 01/01/2013 01:37

longer screws huh? think you have been having too many of those already... Xmas Wink too much bouncing on your side of the bed huh... and you are going to have a better 2013... wow Envy

Beaverfeaver · 01/01/2013 02:23

Could be worse. Imagine if the bed than fell trough the floorboards!

SavoyCabbage · 01/01/2013 02:27

It's a sign. Can you not go on the crafty threads and request a MNer to cross stitch you a "longer screws" sampler and hang it over your bed as a exercise motivator?

Startail · 01/01/2013 02:32
Xmas Grin

DH had to fix the spare bed just before Christmas or DD2 would also have been on the floor.

l'm also not light and I fear twas me who stood on it and broke it Xmas Blush

Happy new year and may Mr Nd Mrs Angrypants have a comfortable night and a brilliant 2013

MammaTJ · 01/01/2013 10:38

littlemissangrypants at least MrAngryPants fixed the bed. I would still be nagging reminding my DP it needed doing months later.

Hope this year is a better one! With longer screws all the time. Grin

FryOneFatManic · 01/01/2013 11:01
