Back in January when I told my father I was pregnant, he seemed to think it was wonderful. Since then ... not so much. Before DD arrived, the other grandparents all helped buy some of the stuff we needed - he didn't. (He and my mother are divorced.) When she arrived, they all gave her presents - he didn't. Fine, I thought, it hasn't occurred to him. The others were all really keen to visit and meet her - he wasn't. When we went to visit him, he didn't seem all that interested, so I thought maybe he's not that good with babies. Then we came to Christmas and he didn't get her a present. I didn't expect a lot, especially as DD obviously had no idea about Christmas, but a token would have been nice, and he could have asked us for ideas if he was stuck. I don't think it's money as he got an expensive food hamper for DH and me - but he surely can't think we'd be giving a 4mo baby duck rillettes or gooey cheeses! I am stupidly upset by it all but have no idea how to raise it with him.
