In my own house
Heated to my own preferred temperature
With only people I invite allowed in
and no one commenting on my parenting

There's no place like home.

eek ddubsgirl sounds shit :(

highlights from my mammoth xmas relative fest included:

  1. 10 hour drive with dog and baby, through driving rain to parents house, followed by 10 hour drive to inlaws several days later
  1. One Nana loudly slagging another Nana over Skype, presumably not realising slagee was present in the room, hearing everything.
  1. Doctor Who special ruined by Nana (slagee) wittering about bollocks all the bloody way through.
  1. Sister self harming publicly and for no discernible reason.
  1. MIL's heating her house to Saharan levels of temperature and aridness, then commenting that my baby nurses too often and is "using you as a comfort."
No, MIL, Baby is using me as a source of fluids, in your horribly overheated house.
  1. MIL attempting to confiscate my present to the Baby off of him, on the dubious grounds that it looked dangerous. Apparently I can give him what I like to play with at home, but her house- her rules. DH thankfully stepped in, but I was Sad and Angry

Also had some really nice times, got some lovely presents and experienced genuinely good hospitality but, my god am I glad its over.

Next year xmas is at my place.
