to think a double date isn't too early?

Me and a group of friend around mid December were invited along to a small Christmas party, which was just going around town to different bars etc.

I met a really nice guy, and my friend got chatting to his brother.

They have been on a a together. Me and the other guy have been on a date together.

I suggested a double date, nothing formal just having a few drinks together. All agreed and were up for it.

Different friend asks about the next date, I tell her its a double one and she pulls this face ----> Confused "oooh .. I think it's a bit early for a double date"

(Btw she is no dating guru. She has only had one boyfriend who she is still with now)

aibu to think having a double date isn't too early?

I would have done it the other way round to begin with rather than go out with a complete stranger.

Not sure why, maybe a safety thing or perhaps I'm just an old fart Grin

But YANBU if you're all up for it then why not?

ArielInTheBath · 27/12/2012 22:45

Exactly Worra

I've just started to doubt it because of the face she pulled.

Double date first, less chance of awkward moments, less pressure, all round safer and someone to have post mortem with after. Enjoy.

Go for it. If you are comfortable with it then it's nothing to do with anyone else.

There are rules on double dating? I had no idea! [old gimmer emoticon] Grin

I think your other friend is being a bit daft really. The two guys are brothers and you two women are, presumably, good friends? It doesn't sound in the least bit odd to me. And, as Purple says, what's it got to do with anyone else, as long as that's what the four of you want to do?

MammaTJ · 28/12/2012 10:02

Sounds like a good idea to me rather than being too early.

phantomnamechanger · 28/12/2012 10:06

as long as you are sure it's a double date and not a potential foursome, unless that sort of thing floats your boat!

verytellytubby · 28/12/2012 15:16

Thought the same as Phantom! Ha ha.

BigShinyBaubles · 28/12/2012 15:47

Sounds like a perfect date. Enjoy Xmas Smile

Like everyone else, I'd have thought it was a really good idea to start with, when you are all just getting to know each other - more relaxed. Enjoy Smile
