I like Piers - yes he is all of those things (not sure about tosser, but maybe technically right).

His view about guns was correct and the Americans are up in arms (no pun intended) about it.

Can't stand the man.

But his views on gun control in the US are spot on.

When someone as vile and arrogant as PM realises there's something not quite right with your gun laws you have got a real problem on your hands.

Generally I despise him, but on this occasion I'd like to give him a knighthood (if I wasn't a stauch anti-monarchist...).

The petition is fucking ridiculous and makes the signatories look like xenophobic single-digit IQ morons.

Yes, he is right about the dreadful prolifiration of guns in USA.

The fact they want to deport him says it all about the kind of country they are....

I am in total agreement with him on this issue. I am shocked and saddened that some Americans don't see it after what happened.

They see it, they just don't care. Owning a gun is more important than someone else's kid/loved one. The selfish mindset is prevalent.

I'm not PM's biggest fan but I totally agree with him. The people signing that ridiculous petition show themselves up to fellow americians and the rest of the world as being ignorant dipshits. Not to mention they have simply given PM a tonne of free publicity and allow him to come out of this looking a heck of a lot better than them.

The Americans just think differently on this issue than we do. A bit like the Muslims and us on the cartoon issue - we think the Mohamed cartoons as harmless fun, they think its one of the worst crimes you can commit.

The Americans think its their right to have weapons and be able to protect themselves. By the same argument, you could say every country (Iran etc) should also be able to have nuclear weapons to defend themselves as well. The Americans ironically dont agree with this though.

Me, I think we should get rid of handguns and nuclear weapons from UK shores!
