DH got me a TV for Christmas to put in the other siting room/dumping ground. It wasn't on my list. I don't actually want one but stupidly mentioned a few days ago that we should get one sometime in the future so that I don't have to permanently watch football with him.

He bought his mum a lovely heart necklace. I secretly thought it was for me. Xmas Sad

I'm going to hell for being ungrateful, aren't I.

Yes.

Is it future-proof? HD, 3d, etc? If not, you could claim it was a false economy and swap it for something twinklier until the posh tellies are cheap enough.

I take it all back.
Last evening, teary-eyed, I cleared space in bedroom to put TV on so that I could sulk up-stairs. Then sat in bed and watched Michael Bentine's Potty Time (other present from DH and DC) with DS1. Brilliant! Xmas Grin

Went back to bed today at 12pm and watched TV but only what I like. I can even get the shopping channels.

I love it. He's the best DH ever. (though maybe he only bought it to get me out of the sitting room Xmas Hmm )

We bought a new tv and sky multi room a couple of year ago for each other for Christmas. Best thing EVER!!!

I work nights and woke at 1.30. Lay in bed watching cake boss and MNing before I was ready to face the DC!! Just got up 10 minutes ago!!
