Dp and christmas drinks.

Dp went out 'for a couple' and still hasn't returned. I'm not worried, he does this sort of stuff all the time.

I'm actually raging, it's fucking christmas and he can't even stay in for the sake of ds and me! Or at least be back at a reasonable hour so he can get up and see ds open his presents.

We are meant to be going to my mums for dinner tomorrow. What do I do? Do I leave the presents and pretend everything's alright? What I really want to do is get up with ds, whose 18mo, and then go to my mums without him. Is this unreasonable? He knows how much I love christmas.

Take child and presents and overnight bag to your mum's early and have a snuggly one there.

Merry Christmas. I hope you can have a lovely one.

ErikNorseman · 25/12/2012 07:44

Get up and carry on your day as planned. If he's absent/too hungover than leave him where he is, don't let it ruin your day. Then, tomorrow, deal with it. And mean it, whatever you do. This is no way to live xx

Slainte · 25/12/2012 07:49

Agree wholeheartedly with Erik. Is he home yet?

PinkFairyTaleOfNewYork · 25/12/2012 07:49

What Erik said carry on with your day as you would with or without him. It's him that will miss out.

Gigondas · 25/12/2012 07:57

What Erik said. My df did this when I was growing up - dont let
Your kids grow up thinking it is normal.

Kahlua4me · 25/12/2012 07:57

Is he home yet?
I also agree with the others. Carry on your day as planned, make sure you have a lovely time.
If he is too drunk or hungover not to get up for his ds and you for today, then you can look at your relationship and future after Christmas.

Hope your mum pampers you today.

ohchristmastree · 25/12/2012 10:14

He came home just after I posted. He still isn't up but me and ds opened all the presents and are having a lovely morning without him. Merry Christmas everyone!!
