To be really fed up with the Next sale

It' s barely 9.30 and the 27+ pages of items for girls age 3-4 has already reduced to 4 pages of tights, underwear and crappy Olympics leftovers. It's been like this the last 2 sales at least. In fact, I don't think I've succeeded in buying a thing in a Next sale since 2010.

Really, what's the point. Don't have the energy to get up at 5 am. Guess it'll all turn up on eBay next week anyway.

Moan over - on with the Xmas preparations.

I give dd a list of stuff to reserve... She works there! So we do well

However the downside is getting up at 4.30 to drive her in for her 5 am start...

I never get a VIP slot. I don't visit thecsale either. Have figured if I liked something I would have brought it at full price anyway.

I still feel a bit grrr that even though I spend a fair bit *usually on children's stuff) that I've never been given a slot. I'd like to see what the fuss was about.

yabu for simply talking about sales before xmas. however i think next stuff is over rated ... poor quality and over priced.

I spent £400 last night on boys wear. But I don't understand this years as you can still order from next (not sale items) today for delivery tomorrow. Where usually everything goes in the sale. The day it starts. Which makes me think the other stuff will be online from 11 tonight. I would look again later on today or tomorrow if I were you op.

Oh no was it today? I thought it was always boxing day!

YANBU! I get VIP invitations and have done for several years but for the last couple of years I've received the notifications late and there are only crap slots left and most stuff is out of stock by the time my slot has started.

This time I was quite pleased to get a 6am slot and got quite a lot of nice things. Even so, next is becoming so expensive that even at half price it's still expensive so I might end up sending most if it back.

Agree about the ebayers buying all stock up. I personally think they should limit items per customer. I once posted a thread about ebayers buying up popular Xmas toys and got a bit of a flaming for it but its highly annoying.

Keep checking the sales though as they add more stock over the next few days so you could still get some bargains.

The VIP sale started yesterday at 5pm - of course most of it is gone already. Should people have been reminded to leave stuff for you?

I shopped at 5pm yesterday - well I say shopped - I got nowt - it was all utter durge left over from the summer

No, Kinkyfuckery, I don't expect people to leave stuff for me. But I do get fed up that folk seem to go so mental for Next stuff in the sale and leave so little behind. It's the only place I can go to within 24 hours of the sale starting - less even - and there s literally nothing left! One of the things I wanted was a new duvet for dd. There were loads when I checked the sale preview. This morning there was one. One. I can't get to a store easily as I'm in a rural area. And the VIP sales are becoming pointless unless you get one of the very first slots. I'm giving up on them. Sticking to m&s and debenhams. Although,... Never heard of take it back Tuesday!

I used to love Next but now just buy shoes there. The clothes are reallly hit and miss quality-wise and nothing to write home about for style or design.

Moan away OP, we're all entitled to a whinge. Personally I think everyone should stay at home during the sales until I've been and picked everything I want first.
