Will.i.am and Britney, bitch

Did I really just hear that?
A quick google confirms the lyrics!
AIBU, or am i old fashioned (at 30), to think this is not appropriate for 'some' radio stations to be playing this all through the day. I was brought up to think of that as a 'bad word' so pretty surprised to hear it broadcast regularly. I don't want my 6yo picking up that word as acceptable language.
Also noticed a tv ad edited out the b word..., so perhaps some agree?

It is a bit grubby, but there are worse things

I'd be surprised if your 6yo hadn't already come across the word in casual usage anyway

WorraLorraTurkey · 18/12/2012 21:35

YANBU

Britney is a very bad word

dishwashervodkaanddietirnbru · 18/12/2012 21:37

you should hear some of the lyrics my 2 get subjected to in the car! The kids know that there are bad words and that they shouldnt be repeated at school/in other peoples company

BloominMisteltoeMarvellousWine · 18/12/2012 21:38

McChristmasPants2012 · 18/12/2012 21:38

DinosaursOnAnAdventCalender · 18/12/2012 21:39

BombayBlue · 18/12/2012 22:10

Agree with Bombay

quesadilla · 18/12/2012 22:13

I love it too. Have a rather worrying mid life crisis crush on Will.i.am.

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 18/12/2012 22:19

i have a rule that my dcs are allowed to sing the bad words in songs when we are alone in the house or car but not if we are with others and they aren't allowed to use the words to be mean to or about anyone. they've heard me swear Blush so i'm not stupid enough to think they never will and i think if they are 'allowed' to do it at an appropriate time (singing along with the radio or my chemical romance) then they wont feel it so much of a taboo that they're busting to do it.

Bakingnovice · 18/12/2012 22:20

I hate to say it but I love it.

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 18/12/2012 22:20

bollocks. why did that strike out not work?

SantaIAmSoFuckingRock · 18/12/2012 22:21

haven't heard the song in question though.

Bakingnovice · 18/12/2012 22:21

The song that is. Not the word. Or britney. Or will.

Feck it. I'm off to bed.

quesadilla · 18/12/2012 22:32

Oh is he a shortarse? Forget it then...

quesadilla · 18/12/2012 22:35

I'm a bitch, I'm a lover, I'm a child, I'm a mother... Etc. dreadful. Not particularly because of the bitch though. Just a piss poor song. The word has its place. Probably not on the Radio 1 breakfast show playlist though...
