[Very grumpy]

TaggieCrimbleBlack · 18/12/2012 15:49

Got up at 8 am sundsy.

Half hour nap sunday afternoon.

Working nights. Sleep is daytime sleep.

Drugs?

Are you stressed about something? Is your bed ok? Do you have anyone else (human or animal) in the room making horrible sleeping sounds that keep you awake? I'm looking at you, cat

I have found that B vitamins help me sleep. But being stressed is usually why I can't sleep.

monsterchild · 18/12/2012 15:53

ooh! get blackout drapes/blinds, and set up a good schedule. I always struggled with sleep when I was working nights. I just couldn't do it, too diurnal I guess!

TaggieCrimbleBlack · 18/12/2012 15:58

Fairly dark and quiet.

Normal stress. Not massively.

Maybe try a B vitamin.

After tonight i am off til christmas (which feels like months away)

Dh used to take Nytol when he worked nights.

TaggieCrimbleBlack · 18/12/2012 16:03

I'm a bit scared of drugs. I'm a lightweight and tend to have extreme reactions and a bit scared I'd feel orrible.

I used to use nytol but I found that no matter when I took it, it never worked until an hr before I needed to get up. Plus it tells you not to use it before operating heavy machinery which is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. Good enough reason to stay away from it in my book.

TunaPastaBake · 18/12/2012 16:17

I used to work shifts and have taken Nytol - but used to wake up feeling 'hungover'.

I find now that I get restless at night when I am about to have my period - perhaps my hormones ? I suppose I would be classed as pre-menopausal at 47.

Hope you get it sorted - nothing worse than not being able to sleep after nights - like constant jet lag.
