This is bloody annoying!!

I have a friend I very rarely see... A few times a year at best and in trying to have a leaner Christmas this year and thinking I wouldn't see her I didn't buy anything for her or her family...

So last night at about 10 I got a message that she was going to drop by with 'some presents for DD and you guys"...

Crap!

So I got DD up at 7 and rushed out, bought toys for her kids, wine and chocolate for her and her DH and even a bone for her dog, wrapped it all, put it all in a gift bag, tidied my house, made DD (and myself!) presentable....

And she just bloody cancelled!!!!

"Sorry, I can't make it. Have a nice Christmas and we have to get together in the new year!"

I'm really pissed off. I'm going to eat the chocolate. If I wasn't pregnant I'd give it am hour then drink the wine!

I wonder whether she was a little the worse for wine last night and got the text muddled; reviewed it this morning and went "shit, I didn't mean "with presents", where did that come from? I haven't even got them any presents. Better cancel!"

Meanwhile, you'll have some emergency ones ready in case anyone you weren't expecting actually does that dropping round thing.

yanbu - text her back as a joke saying, well that's good because we weren't doing presents this year, so it would have been embarassing. Then use what you can on other kids birthdays through next year. As for the dog bone, i'm sure you can pass that off to someone if you don't have a dog yourself.

Or text her to say that's ok, I'll bring presents etc. to you if you're a bit rushed and let her go SHIT!
