Bloody txtspeak on forums!!

It is happening more and more on here and it drives me nuts!
Even if you are posting from your phone, 'u' to 'you' and and 'urs' to 'yours' is just two more letters.
Would it really take that much time out of your day to type them?

YANBU, it's getting worse on here. Much worse.

Knittingnovice · 17/12/2012 16:14

YANBU,
I detest it.
My dmum, dsis (x2) and SIL all use it.
Half the time I can't work out what they are saying, hence annoyed phone calls 'why didn't you answer my text' and me replying I didn't understand what you meant.

One of my sisters accidentally sent a text to my landline, I answered and was greeted with 30 seconds of gibberish Confused

You'd think they'd learn.

I do make lots of typos, but blame it on iPad and android autocorrect, rather than me being ignorant.

Bunbaker · 17/12/2012 16:17

Why don't you switch auto correct off then?
I hate predictive text and have always switched it off any phone I have owned.

akaemmafrost · 17/12/2012 16:21

The only time I have ever used text speak was when I used to have lengthy text arguments with ex. Easier to get the vitriol out, believe me the difference between your and ur really matters at those times.

supadupapupascupa · 17/12/2012 16:22

YABU. You can't possibly complain about abbreviations/text speak when starting a thread with AIBU, you should have put 'Am I Being Unreasonable'

Smile
NannyEggn0gg · 17/12/2012 17:06

supadupapupascupa Oh no, I never mentioned abbreviations, and at least I very nearly put a proper thread title up there so everyone wouldn't have to click to find out what the thread was about...
