I signed up for Orange broadband in November. We chose them specifically because we wanted an unlimited service after installing Netflix and Sky on demand. During the setup phone call I checked approximately 58853 times that it was absolutely unlimited with no useage caps. No, they assured me. Totally unlimited.
I've just had a letter from them, now as "EE" broadband, 'recapping' my plan. 20gb data allowance, it says. Unlimited till march 2013!! Like they're doing me a fucking favour!
Phoned them. They are within the T&Cs, they say, to vary conditions with 30 days notice. This ident a variation, the product is called Unlimited Broadband! Your website says the change to EE won't mean any changes to broadband service!
Ah, they say. You're different, because we have to rent your live from BT. So we can do what we want.
I am waiting on a callback from a manager. AIBU to say they either promise no excess data charges till our 1yr contract is up, or they give me my MAC cide and release me from contract with no penalties (and lose my mobile custom when my contract finishes in April)? A capped product is useless to us.
Word of warning - avoid the bastards like the plague!!!
