Dr Marten boots I wanted went half price, I had a 20% off code so got them for £40.

Signed up to prime delivery so order said they would be delievered next day,

They didn't arrive.

Or the next day.

Called them and they said courier has lost, told me they ordered a replacement pair right there.... to be delivered next day. And I should get confirmation email soon.

Few hours pass, no email.

So I do the internet chat thing and 2nd person confirms replacement boots have been ordered, to arrive the next day....

they didn't arrive.

I ring.

NO REPLACEMENT ORDER WAS EVER PLACED. Hmm

So I'm staying on phone as I want the boots!

They are sold out,

they have the exact same boots but patent ones --- they wont send me them.

I tell them to trace the lost boots then as I want them.

They said they will ring back today and wont refund as if they come back in stock thety will dispatch.

No body rang today!!

and I just logged on to see they have refunded me!! I told them I didn't want a refund, I wanted a replacement.

AIBU to think this is shitty??

Really shocked to hear this, I've always found Amazon's service excellent, I'd be annoyed too especially if the Docs are now full price.I received an e-mail from Jakes Shoe Shop saying they had 30% of Doc Martins not sure how legitimate this is because I did not search the site, but it might be worth a go.

I am too as I order lots with no problems, but this has just been ridiculous!

I really think if you get to talk to someone they will honour the original price, but do they have the ones you want in stock still? They have always been brilliant IMO. Keep trying :(

cumfy · 12/12/2012 21:38

Sounds like they've had high demand and been delivering to everyone without a discount code first.Xmas Grin

OTOH they have a very good reputation, and would be vv surprised if they tried to dishonour the contract.

MistletoeAndTomHardyPlease · 12/12/2012 22:51

Well they have as they just refunded me when I specifically said I wanted the boots or similar ones :( after ALOT of fannying about too!

foreverondiet · 12/12/2012 22:58

Well it was a too good to be true offer, and you got a refund. I agree with cumfy...

I suppose all retailers are going to slip up now and again but, personally, I think Amazon offer astoundingly good customer service.

Hegsy · 12/12/2012 23:13

No harm in registering a complaint saying you want the boots at that price. Worst they can do is say no.

Kalisi · 12/12/2012 23:16

Maybe they are feeling very festive and are planning on sending the boots as well? >hopefull
