I've always wanted to join the police but since I graduated police spending has been cut and nobody has really been recruiting for new officers. I've just found a vacancy for PCSOs (which appears to be the only way to get to being an officer at present). Anyway the deadline is next week and the minimum amount of time for the recruitment process seems to be 6 months, from what I've read usually taking a lot longer though.
Normally I would have applied straight away and had fx constantly until I heard back BUT I'm pregnant, due in February.
I would have to return to work in August anyway due to finances and given that the recruitment process starts so close to Xmas it's unlikely they would want anyone to start before then anyway.
My question is WIBU to apply and deal with the fact that I'm quite clearly pregnant if and when I'm invited to interview or should I just leave it for now and hope the opportunity comes up again later?
(I've been trying to convince myself it's perfectly reasonable to apply so thought I'd better get other opinions as I think I've completely warped any sense of right here)
