Whilst shopping yesterday I noticed several stores putting out their usual donation for toys/gifts for local children in care.

I was speaking to an assistant who told me that year on year the donations are depleting and many now are accepting loose change as well as gifts.

I know times are hard for many but even the smallest donation will be appreciated by some child who lets face it Christmas is not a time of joy or fond memories for.

I am not from any organisation, I'm just a mum who realises that could have been me.

Please help if you can, and if you can't then I know I'm out of line asking.

YANBU.

I have already donated via Church services to the local social service and the local childrens ward (theirs are to stock up the playroom which is another place always looking for toys (old or new!))

If people can spare even a few pounds for an extra gift then please do.

If you do don't forget that often older children and teenagers get forgotten about but struggle just as much as young children at this time of year

I'm going to do this this year

My ds and dh have very little :( didn't expect finances to be this bad so I haven't been able to buy much :( but I'm lucky as I booked a holiday for christmas back at the beginning of the year. So at least we have something

Tryna look on bright side :) gonna give a few things, it won't be much but hopefully it'll make a child happy :)

Twinkle
you are the true meaning of Christmas and an example to all. I hope you have a lovely holiday and feel terribly humbled by you.
I'm sorry your finances are bad and hope things pick up for you soon.
