Small para on MAN leaving his wife of 17yrs and children. Polite wife.

Becoming v. aware of women being portrayed in this way in the media and men getting no blame attributed at all.

In this case they BOTH were appalling, but IMO he was worse because he had kids and swapped wife for younger model. She clearly isn't an angel either, but on balance has hurt less people.

Perhaps the husband was more devastated?

Men get blamed for plenty as far as I can see, rightly or wrongly. I don't see why women should escape being blamed for their bad behaviour though.

Surely that depends on who sold their story - if it were the husband who sold it then he would be devastated. If it were the wife, then she would be.

Personal hate: overuse of the word devastated.

Maybe he and his wife were partly separated and he told her from the get go he fancied his colleague? Dunno, there is probably a rezson it has been written this way though.
