To be more than irritated by Tesco.com

I thought I would use my ancient club card vouchers and exchange (twice face value) to buy some extra presents for DC.
I have received my codes via e-mail but can I use them? I have entered the sodding codes at the checkout 5 times now. The codes are accepted and each time I try to complete I get message saying 'we can't process your order at the moment, please try again later'.
WHEN is later? Tomorrow, Monday? Next week when the offer expires? I hate Tesco.
AIBU to phone them tomorrow and ask that they complete my order over the phone despite it being 'on-line' orders only?

You would be unreasonable to order. If your nice about it then the staff will be more willing to help you

YANBU - I doubled mine for tesco direct and everything I wanted is out of stock. I have emailed to get them transfered to use with groceries...if they don't do it there will be hell to pay!!

TisTheSeasonToBeJolly · 08/12/2012 21:33

Oh sorry - misread the last bit and thought you said order them to complete your order. Ignore my other post lol. No your not being unreasonable

KittyFane1 · 08/12/2012 21:34

I'm wondering if the items are out of stock but I have now emptied the basket twice and put the stuff back in. Aghhh. I'll phone them tomorrow.
Tis I have no intention of ordering them. I will be very nice and sooooo disappointed, that usually works Grin

I had a similar problem a couple of months ago, but when I phoned up, they were more than helpful Xmas Smile

I exchanged my vouchers for the first time just the other day. It took about four weeks and twenty seven phone calls. Well, not exactly but it wasn't the fastest, most straightforward thing I've ever done. I was definitely not in work at the time, trying to do it secretly either. Oh no.

Startail · 08/12/2012 21:48

YANBU, I tried 5 times with two different browsers to open an account so I could use my vouchers.

But no, after I'd gone through the whole rigmarole it waffled some errorXmas Angry

Kittyfane I had the exact same problem back in August. After numerous phone calls to their (frankly useless) customer services the end result was that they had to cancel all my vouchers and send me a gift card for the equivalent value, which required me to sign for on delivery, so I had to stay in for a day too.

The crux of the issue was that my online vouchers had got stuck in some kind of online limbo and despite 3 different Tesco employees saying they would be reset within 48 hours, they were never able to do it.

Plus I had a lot of back and forth between the Tesco.com team and the Clubcard team, with neither able to/ wanting to take responsibility.

The manager who eventually agreed to send the gift card was actually quite shitty on the phone too.

I hope you're issue is easier to resolve but my experience of them has been poor.

Argh, your issue, not you're !!!
