To say that DH should just get up earlier

So, DH rolls out of bed today at 9.45 (lucky beggar has flexi hours at work) and moans to me that his body clock is all out of synch. He's going to sleep at 2am and getting up at 10am.

I have limited sympathy as we have toddler and baby who I am up in night to, up in the mornings with. And last night I had a middle of the night to out of hours doctors for poorly baby dd.

Anyway, I said to him he would just have to make himself get up at, say, 8 am a couple of mornings in a row. He might have a couple f tired days but he will be able to go to sleep at a normal time, hopefully.
He has no history of insomnia or other such sleep problems, no recent long haul trips etc. He says himself he has just messed up his body clock.

Yet he was offended at my suggestion and huffed and puffed at me.

Lazy heap.

Why is he operating on the body clock of an unemployed teenager when he has a family??

Tell him to get his lazy arse in gear.

Yet he was offended at my suggestion and huffed and puffed at me.

That's because he knows you're right but he doesn't want you to be right.

YANBU

He's operating on student hours, and is enjoying it, which is why he's huffing and puffing at the prospect of having to act like a proper grown up.

Have a look on ebay for a klaxon.

KD0706 · 06/12/2012 13:29

Klaxon. Good idea.

To be fair he's not ( usually) a useless idiot.

I think I will need to send 2.5 yo DD1 in at 8am tomorrow to jump on him.

Xmas Grin

Purely in the interests of helping him to readjust his body clock you understand...
