To take my phone in the loo?

I missed out on some work today. I do supply and my boss rang when I was in the powder room. Am I being unreasonable in not taking my phone into the littlest room with me? I wouldn't like to talk to somebody and hear the echo of someone using the water closet, or the plop-splash of turdy products as they start their long swim to the sea.
Do you take it in the lav?
Do you answer it?

I take my phone with me so I can play Plants V Zombies while I ahem do the business... very mature!

I cringe every time I hear somebody using their phone in the toilet.

I take it with me as it is usually in my pocket. I don't think I would actually answer it while sat on the loo though. Surely if it rings while you are busy you can just ring back?

When I was a teenager my friend was on the phone to me and I needed the toilet, so decided to keep chatting while I went, reasoning, well, she can't see me! Then she must have heard the sound of my wee through the phone because there was a pause and she said "Bertie are you on the toilet?!"

Never done it since!

I did see I had a message, but by the time I contacted her back she had found somebody who wasn't sitting on the thunderbox.

I take my phone to the loo and play Bejeweled Blitz, I have been known to answer it but it depends who is calling! I rang my best mate when I got my shewee, and used it whilst talking on the phone to her, I thought it was hilarious, her? not so much.

If my boss rang, no way would I answer it whilst in the toilet!

I text and play games on the loo. Sometimes its the only minute you get to sit down with a three year old!!

A friend and I used to talk for hours (and I mean hours) most nights, and at least one of us would need to wee during that time. We did sometimes just carry on talking, but I can't imagine doing that with anyone else, and certainly not answering a call on the loo.

No way would I answer the phone to my boss in the loo! I do sometimes answer if it's my mum, usually so I can shriek at her 'How do you do it, mum? How do you know the minute my bum hits the loo seat from 300 miles away and decide to phone me then??' She says it's a natural gift, BTW

I wouldn't mind texting and gaming but talking when tinkling and plopping I couldn't cope with no matter who it was. There are some strange people on Mumsnet.

YANBU, I think it's horrible when people carry on talking whilst going to the toilet. I don't want to imagine what they are doing.

DH used to do this to me whislt he was at work until I told how fecking disgusting it was, now he doesn't.

What if you accidentally wipe with your phone hand?

I always do it not doing it right now, I swear. For me its just like reading a newspaper or book like a lot of people do. Its a source of entertainment. Before I used my phone I used to read shampoo bottles! I have to do something in order to relax, tmi possibly.

I hate when people talk on their phone in the loo.

I was locked in the toilet a work a couple of months back. It's up some stairs and away from the main office, and I was very lucky that someone else came up 5mins later and heard me banging and shouting. It took the caretaker nearly half an hour to drill the lock off and get me out. I didn't have my phone but I never go to the loo without it now!!

My dick head last boss locked me in the toilet for a laugh at 6 months pregnant. This is a guy without a humorous bone (get the joke ha ha) in his body. Luckily I had my phone and called reception to let me out.

When I had a mc it meant I could summon DH to provide food and drink without getting up and bleeding all over the bathroom.

I also like to play on my phone FB and MN whilst on the throne.
