About the dishes?

Dp is not working at the moment.

I have been at work all day and dd has been at playscho so he has been at home all day by himself.

I did the dishes before I left this morning and put them on the rack to dry.

When I get home tonight his dishes for the whole day are left in the sink and dishes I did this morning are still sitting in the side. AIBU to expect him to fucking clear up after himself? I was obviously pissed off about it when I came in and now he is now huffing around.

If its a one off I'd let it go, if it happened regularly I would be pissy.

bradywasmyfavouriteking · 03/12/2012 18:15

Depends.

What has he been doing all day?

If he has say been decorating and got loads done, YABU.

If he has sat on his arse all day, he could have at least done the pots, YANBU.

We have a rule in my house.
If it bothers me, I clear it up.
If it bothers hm, he clears it up.
If it bothers nether of us, it stays there.
You may not wish to do this, but I find it saves an awful lot of huffing.

It happens all. the. time but normally I let it go because he had a stressful job and was very busy. I put it down to tiredness but now it appears it's just general can't be arsedness.

What Brady said!

If everything else was done then no issue. If nothing is done I would be pissed off (unless it was a one off then i would let it go probably)

Crinkle77 · 03/12/2012 18:19

If he has been busy doing other jobs then YABU but if he hasn't done tap all day I would be really cross. The thing is with men is that they just don't see mess. I don't think they do it on purpose IYKWIM but it just doesn't enter their heads.

I don't do housework till the evening, all the dishes go into the dishwasher at the same time.

i think it is a waste of gas and water to fill a whole sink up with hot soapy water for a few dishes.

FernandoIsFaster · 03/12/2012 18:22

He has been looking for jobs all day he says and put a few clothes washes on. But my point is I managed to do my dishes before I even left the house this morning and he hasn't managed in a whole day to do his own. Angry it feels like he just bloody waits for me to get home.

I only wash up once a day, sometimes twice at a push. He surely can't have made that many dishes during the day?

If he is generally lazy and doesn't muck in then I can understand you being annoyed though.
