Mrsjay · 03/12/2012 18:37

she will be a Lady not a princess so little pincess lady cambridge

IneedAgoldenNickname · 03/12/2012 18:38

Why won't she be a princess?

Mrsjay · 03/12/2012 18:39

because mum and dad are duke and duchess I think that is how it works although she will be an HRH so probably be a princess ive no idea what im talking about do I Grin

chickydoo · 03/12/2012 18:40

Got to have Harry/Henry in there somewhere if it's a boy.

BrianCoxIsAChristmasPud · 03/12/2012 18:40

I think they will have to choose a first and second name from a list, after that they can have loads of names.

Doesn't Charles have about 8 names?

So, technically they could have:

Prince Phillip Edward James Kyle Jayden Joshua Gerald Horatio Englebert the First.

Sorted.

chickydoo · 03/12/2012 18:41

Think as potential King/Queen the baby will be Prince or princess

Mrsjay · 03/12/2012 18:41

Prince Phillip Edward James Kyle Jayden Joshua Gerald Horatio Englebert the First.

thos oh Kate are reading this is your babies name even if it is a girl

IneedAgoldenNickname · 03/12/2012 18:41

Is William not a prince then (I'm so ignorant)

Mrsjay · 03/12/2012 18:43

yes he is but he was given the title of Duke after the wedding , I seem to be digging a hole now , Edward and sophies daughter is called lady louise thats why i thought

BrianCoxIsAChristmasPud · 03/12/2012 18:44

Now then - Andrew is a Duke but Beatrice and Eugenie are Princesses aren't they?

wannabedomesticgoddess · 03/12/2012 18:44

The baby will be a prince/princess because it is in the direct bloodline.

William is a Prince aswell as his other titles.

IneedAgoldenNickname · 03/12/2012 18:45

Oh ok, I don't understand all these titles lol! Although I thought as heir to the throne she would be princess

Assuming it's a girl that is!

Viviennemary · 03/12/2012 18:51

She will be a Princess. Beatrice and Eugenie are Princesses. So if this new royal is a girl she will be a princess and a boy will be a prince. That's my opinion. I'm sure it's right! For once. Grin

Frankelstein · 03/12/2012 19:29

The child will be a prince/princess. William's full title is HRH Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. Prince/Princess outranks a Dukedom.

Edward's children, and Anne's, do not have "prince" or "princess" titles because their patents chose not to bestow them.

gordyslovesheep · 03/12/2012 19:32

Yes

Princess Princess Boo Boo Lizzy Middleton-Cambridge

grovel · 03/12/2012 19:33

The Cambridge connection suggests that Trinity would be a good name. King's would be a bit OTT.
There's a Clare College too.

Meandmycats · 03/12/2012 19:33

I bet they choose Elizabeth if it's a girl. That is the name I want if I ever get pregnant and have a girl (currently TTC) and so even though I have loved that name for years everyone will always assume I've named my baby after the Royal baby!

Don't know about a boy. Maybe Charles or Philip. I imagine it will have the name of a current Royal, or they could want to be different. I think whatever they go for it will be a classic/traditional type of name.

gordyslovesheep · 03/12/2012 19:41

Prince Phillip Edward James Kyle Jayden Joshua Gerald Horatio Englebert the First

can we change James to Jeremy Grin

Saltire · 03/12/2012 19:42

Sophie and Edwards children can by right call themselves Prince and Princess as they are the grandchildren of a monarch through the male line however they chose not to give their chidlren that title.
William and Kates child will be prince or Princess.

i think
Isabella
Charlotte
Eleanor
Alexandra as girls names

Phillip
Robert
George
as boys names. I did think of david too, but seing as that was the Duke of Windsors real name they might not choose it.

KittyFane1 · 03/12/2012 19:46

Princess Mercedes Lexie Kitty Cambridge.

wannabedomesticgoddess · 03/12/2012 19:46

I had thought Charlotte too Saltire. but I am biased

KittyFane1 · 03/12/2012 19:48

Or just Kitty Cambridge. Lovely.

SantaWearsGreen · 03/12/2012 19:53

This is a good point. I really feel sorry for them, they probably will have to check with advisors if their name choice is acceptable or not..

McChristmasPants2012 · 03/12/2012 19:56

the offical surname is Mountbatten-Windsor or they don't need one at all

www.royal.gov.uk/ThecurrentRoyalFamily/TheRoyalFamilyname/Overview.aspx

For the most part, members of the Royal Family who are entitled to the style and dignity of HRH Prince or Princess do not need a surname, but if at any time any of them do need a surname (such as upon marriage), that surname is Mountbatten-Windsor.
