...until xmas eve and take it down boxing day because 10mo DS is crawling and climbs up everything he can and tbh i can not be arsed spending weeks telling him to leave it alone and not being able to leave him in the room for a second.

I've now been renamed the grinch :(

When my DS was a similar age the only thing that saved it was a playpen - as in the tree inside the playpen.

Grin @ the tree in the play pen

Dress him in a tutu and tie him to the top of it.

Grin tree in the playpen fab idea!

you've got to put the tree up, but yes, you're right, a 10month old will seek and destroy.

definitely put the tree in a playpen.

DontmindifIdo · 01/12/2012 13:25

compromise, put it up 21st, take it down some time between Christmas and new year. At least there should be others around for that time to help deal with DS.

My mum puts the tree up the day before xmas eve and takes it down boxing day.

She doesnt have a crawling child as an excuse. Shes just a scrooge :o

YANBU.

Is baby your only child?

We had a small tree on a table when ours were little.

vix206 · 01/12/2012 13:33

We found tree in the playpen worked beautifully when my DS was too young to understand not to pull it down! Grin
