I've just had an e-mail from HMRC titled Tax Refund Alert! asking me to click on a link within the e-mail to claim my £900 tax refund.

I use the HMRC website quite a bit for work and this certainly looks the same, but it's dodgy isn't it?!

MammaTJ · 29/11/2012 16:53

Yes, they write to you to give a refund. They wrote to me, they wrote to my DP and they wrote to my friend.

addictedismoving · 29/11/2012 16:53

hmrc dont generally send out e mails, they post, which is why it can take so long!

addictedismoving · 29/11/2012 16:54

and when they write they send the cheque attached to the bottom of the letter

MadameCreeper · 29/11/2012 16:54

Yes. It's not just dodgy it's phishing at it's finest.

BloominMarvellous · 29/11/2012 16:58

I've had that one a few times. There should be a way on HMRC website to report it.

iklboo · 29/11/2012 17:06

It's dodgier than a The Artful Dodger driving a dodgem round a jammy dodger factory.
