To paint my bathroom grey (very trivial) ?

Ok, picture the scene. A small bathroom. It has 4 walls (although I am omitting one as it has the door in the middle so too small to count as a wall) l.

One wall is white tiles (where the bath is).
One is wallpapered. It is different sized squares / rectangles. Mostly white, some black and some dark bluey grey.
One has nothing (it's where the toilet and sink are so we haven't got round to papering it as it is awkward). I'm thinking of doing this one the same dark bluey grey as on the wallpaper.
Does this sound ok?! Its not got loads of sunlight but enough to not have the light on during the day. The rest of my bathroom is white so its not like it would all be dark thus making it look smaller than it is.

Does anyone have a better interior design mind than mine?! I'm so useless at these things...

My bathroom is small, tiled with white tiles and the other walls are painted grey. It looks lovely. I have accessoried with black, so there is a black/while/grey theme. I love it.

My bathroom is pale grey with one wall clad with horizontal T&G which is painted charcoal and accessorised with a smoked glass chandelier. I think it's beautiful but then again I would, wouldn't I, I would imagine it's not to everyone's taste

Yes do it. Be careful though... some of the dulux blue grey tones are lilac. You need to paint a big swatch to work that out. We didnt. Our bathroom is lilac and not the very pale blue grey we thought we'd chosen!

StinkyWicket · 28/11/2012 19:34

Our bathroom (when finished Hmm) will be three white tiled walls and then hopefully the fourth will be grey or maybe lavender.

EddieVeddersfoxymop · 28/11/2012 19:37

We have a small ensuite and painted it v v v dark grey. Its weird though, it doesn't make the room dark or feel small......

One corner of the room is tiled for the shower cubicle (a quarter circle), one wall has a radiator, the other the sink and loo and then the door. The tiles are white and silver.

I hunted high and low for a grey that came out, well, grey rather than blue, lilac etc etc. After many many swear words tester pots, we finally got there. Do it!

I'm planning a major bathroom (tiny) make-over with F&B Downpipe which is very dark, will look fabulous (I hope).

lovelyladuree · 28/11/2012 21:09

It will look like the bulkhead of a submarine.

My bathroom has a white tiled wall floor to bath and around it, the wall with door in the middle is slate grey the two big walls are cotton white with the dinky bit of wall near the bath slate grey too.

All black bits and bobs and some really bright paintings on the biggest white wall.

we love it and it gets endless compliments, really relaxing and not boring either.

I say go for it!

MaureenMLove · 28/11/2012 21:34

And I thought I was being original! Clearly not! Grin

We are in the middle of a bathroom re-fit and have browns and creams on the mosaic floor and creamy coloured wall tiles, with a boarder tile of lots of different creams and browns. The remaining bit of wall that's not tiled it going to be grey. Well, pebble coloured I like/hope to think!

bluebump · 28/11/2012 21:46

Yes to the comment above about the Dulux grey paint being lilac once you put it on the wall. I did mine in frosted steel as it looked a slightly pinky grey which was exactly what I wanted but large scale it's very lilac. I actually like it now its up even if it wasn't quite what I was aiming for but my suite and tiles are white so it goes ok together.

EverythingsDozy · 28/11/2012 21:53

Oh fabulous, im glad you've all said yes, I just can't picture these things in my head!! Looks like the difficult part will be finding a decent paint. Good job I love B&Q Grin

Mine is painted grey. I bought some glitter stuff from B&Q and put it over the top. It looks fab. Grin

My downstairs loo is some shade of grey, can't remember what ( f and b ) it's lovely. Go for it.
