Ok so not a big issue at all in fact u may even find it funny but im a bit annoyed.
To put every1 in the pic we automatically had bins delivered wen we moved in that r bigger than others.

After our bins were emptied last time i ended up having to be away overnight and on returning my bin was missing (stupidly we had not yet put our house no on it) now it is bin day again and it has reappeared only with a no stuck on it so obv im thinking they stole it and then had cheek to put their no on it! But oh has put me off taking it back saying how can i be sure they havent just got a new one :(

What would u do?

You don't live in the Lakes do you?

Because my DP told me he saw someone running down the road with a wheelybin over his shoulder the other day, like he may have just nicked it Grin

If your's is missing telling the council is your best bet. So annoying when these things happen! as is people who come on here to patronise others by telling them to spell/type properly. sod off with you

goldenstarpine · 22/11/2012 12:11

in scotland you need to report a bin theft to the police and get an incident number. once this is done the council give you a free bin, if the council suspect someone is using an extra bin,the binmen/women crush it.
phone your council and ask what their policy is.
Any luck the person who nicked it ends up with a crushed bin.

diddl · 22/11/2012 12:13

crushing bins?

What a waste!

Why not just remove it??

diddl · 22/11/2012 12:16

I´m not keen on text-but if it bothers me that much-I don´t read.

Is it in T&Cs not to use text or exactly what can be posted on AIBU?

Why not pm someone?

It actually is in the Talk Guidelines.

And if you think that was snark? You must be new.

Snark was my original post which said "sorry, are you writing in English?"

And I was the second person to suggest she ring the council, before I posted about using proper language on here.

Sorry, I'm wrong. I could have sworn there was something in there about Txtspk, but I either dreamt it or it's been removed.

I still say I wasn't snarky.

I can show you snarky, if you'd like?

Hopingforno2 · 22/11/2012 14:32

Thanks folks a very nice neighbour has given me a small bin to use :) and ive contacted council so should hopefully get another bigger one soon as im not sure how i'll fare with a small one and fortnightly emptying lol

if its not in the rules, it should be!

SaskiaRembrandtVampireHunter · 22/11/2012 15:58

I thought there was something in the t&c about using textspeak too - if it's been removed it should be replaced.

Tee2072 · 22/11/2012 16:12

Maybe I didn't dream it, then. I swear it was there!
