Car went into dealership, DH told them he thought there was maybe a problem with the key as it wasn't starting.

They said battery terminals needed fixing/tightening, job done, £173.

The car runs fine a total of three times then same thing happens again.

Take it back to be told it is the board the battery terminal sits on, job done, £183.

Again 3 runs in the car and it stops working.

I called them today and the upshot of the conversation was basically 'tough shit' that's how it goes with older cars, car is 10 years old. Said we could bring it in and they would look at it.

So AIBU to think they didn't fix it the first time, so shouldn't have been charged for the second time? Or is there attitude correct and I've shelled out the best part of £400 to not have the car fixed?

YANBU. They clearly didn't know what was actually worng with it the first time, and the second time, but charged you any way. And those sums sound ridiculous for the jobs.
