Or what ive just read about them! i have them first time ever and ive never felt more ill, damn children!, i have taken ovex and cleaned until my hands are cracked over the last 48 hours but still they are not gone, so i googled how long..... and seen people writing that they had them in their entire bodies, eyes, ears, nose! please tell me thats not possible, i know feel practically sick with fear NEVER GOOGLE, NEVER GOOGLE......

Am pretty sure that is not possible!!! They live in your anus. They cannot migrate round your body!!!

Aww, poor you, do you want to wash your eyes out with bleach? I usually use the NHS website for medical info, not too over the top!

please do not panic, there is way too much (mis)information out there and if you have taken the Ovex as directed I am sure you will be cured asap.

They just live in your lower bowel. People who have them in their ears have dodgy personal habits. I've had them they are intensely itchy but within 3 days I was fine. I did take a pill 1 and then 2 weeks later though just to ensure i hadn't reinfected myself when i had them. Think I got them from gardening/soil as the kids never had them.
Wah your hands alot, cut your nails short and keep them clean and wear pants at night for a few nights. you'll be fine. The internet has alot of nutters on it, they congregate around anything medical. I avoid the medical areas of mumsnet.

You can't get them from gardening/the soil, Rebecca - they have to live in/on a human!!

They're not so bad. I used to just think of them as annoying, temporary lodgers

hidden that's how I've always thought of them. Annoying, slightly uncomfortable and very glad to see the back of them - but not sick making or aggressively invasive.

OP - if you are feeling more poorly than you ever have before, I'd go to your GP because it doesn't sound like typical threadworms.

It's highly unlikely to have thread worms in your eyes ears and nose I would happily link to info about worms that do but they are gross. The health topic on here has a thread about thread worms that is helpfull.

Well I hope it is seen as a few of us spent ages giving info about them.

well its been almost 48 hours since meds im praying i feel nothing tonight and the meds have worked, i cant stop cleaning though and may be developing a slight obsession with hand washing my hands are all chapped, worms be gone....!

Belt and braces, eat a couple teaspoons of ground pumpkinseeds twice per day. It paralyses them so they can be passed without laying eggs.

I had them as a teenager and was too embarrassed to tell my mum. I actually had them for years until I got food poisoning and they disappeared. They never went other parts of my body. Take the medication, wash towels,, underwear and bedding on
a hot wash and hoover your mattress to get rid of all eggs. Clean your nails before eating and food preparation.
