The ASA has had 160 complaints about the ASDA Xmas ad. Go on, how many of you made a complaint?

Get in Grin!

Fakebook · 11/11/2012 07:27

Not me, because I don't give a shit about non-issues like this.

Sirzy · 11/11/2012 07:32

What Fakebook said.

People really do look for reasons to be offended don't they!

Pancakeflipper · 11/11/2012 07:35

Not me, not seen it.

Though my DP rather likes the Debenhams one. Not for the cute little boy but for the lady in her undies showing an attractive bottom.

Megatron · 11/11/2012 07:36

Non issue.

catgirl1976 · 11/11/2012 07:40

I didn't

KaFayOLay · 11/11/2012 07:42

Nope. It's just like RL Grin

Some people must have nothing in their life if they actually take time out of their day to complain about what really is something rather trivial Confused.

exoticfruits · 11/11/2012 07:46

I've not seen it but I wouldn't complain about anything as trivial as an advert.

SlightlySuperiorPeasant · 11/11/2012 07:49

What Fakebook said.

Animation · 11/11/2012 07:52

I've just seen it - I suppose it is quite bad actually in this day and age!

But I can relate to the mother - a lot of it ends up being women's work. My DH always cooks Christmas dinner though - not me.

SantasComingFace · 11/11/2012 07:55

See I know that many think that its a load of sexist bollocks, but it's also true to life for 90% of families I know so find it hard to get bothered by it

OpheliaPayneAgain · 11/11/2012 07:57

THE M&S one annoys me more.

I like the Asda one Grin

Animation · 11/11/2012 08:00

Yes, afraid it is very true to life. Confused

SecretNutellaFix · 11/11/2012 08:03

Sadly, the ad shows the truth for the vast majority of families I know and if it makes people uncomfortable because they don't wish to acknowledge the truth which is that the majority of organisational responsibility for Christmas/ birthdays/ family events are organised by mum, then tough luck.

How often on here do we find posts complaining in both lighthearted and serious threads about their DP inability to choose one decent or appropriate gift for one person. Who do the shopping and forget to get essentials but are happy to get crap and then complain about the cost?

Santasinmypudenda · 11/11/2012 08:04

160 people who really need to get out more

putonyourredshoes · 11/11/2012 08:05

ha at Santa

wigglesrock · 11/11/2012 08:09

No, it doesn't bother me at all - I think its a reflection of life. Part of me wonders if a different store not Asda had made the ad would people be marvelling at its post ironic modernist tone shite.

Santasinmypudenda · 11/11/2012 08:10

Whats the one with myleene klass gurning at children who seento be her christmas slaves?

That should get banned

wewereherefirst · 11/11/2012 08:16

Yes, its so sodding offensive Angry how dare they tell us what may happen at Christmas. Bastards!

GhostShip · 11/11/2012 08:42

Cannot believe people have complained. Get a grip

It's a good representation in my opinion.

GhostShip · 11/11/2012 08:42

Perhaps they should do it from the fathers perspective. Balance it out

Scholes34 · 11/11/2012 08:50

Wasn't the Boots ad last year fairly similar without explicity saying it was all down to mum?

It is a fair reflection of what goes on in the majority of households with the possible exception of the cooking of the Christmas dinner.

slartybartfast · 11/11/2012 08:56

i havwnt seen ad. is it assumign everything is down to the fmeale. eveyrthing is down to me in my house.

slartybartfast · 11/11/2012 08:57

CwtchesAndCuddles · 11/11/2012 09:48

Just seen the ad for the first tme - it's a very true reflection of Christmas in my house!!!
