Ok so its a p and T parking thread so will probably be flamed. I have 3dc including a newborn.
Parked in last available P an T space (end one) with a standard space next to it so only extra room one side. Parked as far over as possible on roomy side.
Returned to car with infant carrier to find someone had parked in space next to me but so badly car partly in my space.
Found it really difficult to get infant carrier back in.
AIBU to be cross.

No but people do this in regular spaces all the time. I presume you still had room to manage?

redskyatnight · 07/11/2012 12:35

um, couldn't you just have put the baby in the roomy side?

GwendolineMaryLacey · 07/11/2012 12:42

Not if there are child seats that you have to climb over to get to the isofix base on one side.

redskyatnight · 07/11/2012 12:56

You don't have to climb though do you ... just lean (or take the seat out if that's easy enough or push the front seats forward). No different from parking at the side of a busy road where your toddler seat is on the road side.

scot04 · 07/11/2012 12:57

Yep 2 car seats already in situ. Did manage but ended up knocking car seat against the bodywork of my car.

No way could I swing the infant seat over DD1's seat and onto the base without climbing in. I'd need muscles like Mr Universe :o

CatsRule · 07/11/2012 14:20

Some people are just really inconsiderate when parking whether in normal, p&t or disabled spaces.

I have a cat seat that stays in the car so I wouldn't havr had the option of using the other side as someone suggested so I can see why this annoyed you.

CatsRule · 07/11/2012 14:21

Car seat not cat seat Grin

Kalisi · 07/11/2012 14:22

Doesn't bother me. Also doesn't bother me when I accidentally ding cars with my door if they are over the line Grin

BreconBeBuggered · 07/11/2012 14:31

Don't use P&T as DS2 is 9, but this bothers me because I'm a bit shit at parking and can do without having less room to manoeuvre because someone has left their car thoughtlessly positioned. Can't quite get my head around why anyone would leave their car straddling two spaces once they've got out and seen what a pig's ear they've made of parking. Surely it's less embarrassing to correct your cock-up than to leave it? Blush

TENDTOprocrastinate · 07/11/2012 14:36

Yanbu. It's just damn inconsiderate. Really bloomin annoying!!!

valiumredhead · 07/11/2012 15:02

But you coped, right? Imagine what it was like before P and T spaces Wink

valiumredhead · 07/11/2012 15:03

YABU to be cross - just shrug it off, very one is fine, no one is hurt, it was a slight inconvenience.

valiumredhead · 07/11/2012 15:04

every

Woozley · 07/11/2012 15:05

YANBU. Very inconsiderate. Especially when there is masses of room.

Feminine · 07/11/2012 15:08

Agree with vallium

Seems a big deal now( I imagine) as you are tired, dealing with a newborn is always a challenge Wink

scot04 · 07/11/2012 16:33

Thats probably it feminine Supermarket and 3 dc is stressful when sleep deprived.

manitz · 07/11/2012 16:37

i have had to reverse car out before taking carseat off pram frame and getting it in. not in pand t spaces though but it's flipping dangerous though can't see how they'd know that was the case. they just don't have to deal with it.

OwlLady · 07/11/2012 16:37

i would have just put baby in the front and turned the airbag off tbh

scot04 · 07/11/2012 16:58

Unfortunately that wouldn't help. Badly parked car was on passenger side.

I've had this happen before and it is annoying. Yanbu
