i have 4 children and i love them all equally but..

ds1 is 10 with a teenagers attitude
dd1 is 1.5 and goi g through a whiney stage (at leaset i hope its a stage)
dd2 is 9 months and at the seperation anxiety stage where she screams if she isnt touching me

ds2 is 2 and an angel! he is no bother at all, he plays with his toys nicely, he hugs me and tells me "lub you mama"

is it unreasonable/normal to go through stages of enjoying spending time with one child more than the others?

I'm just amazed at how you've got a 9 month old, a 1.5 year old and a 2 year old and have time to be on here!

10 year olds at school, 3.5 year olds bothering the cat, 2 year old is napping and 9 month olds on the boob :)

Tbh, if I was 10, had been an only child for 7 - 8 years and then had 3 siblings in 2 years I'd have a teenager attitude as well, you may enjoy spending time with one child more than the others but you mustn't make that obvious to them, in any shape or form. Make time for them all and they'll reward you for it - a thousand times over

No IME it is perfectly normal to have differing relationships at different times. I have a 14,12,10 and 9 year olds and it is horses for courses what I do with each,and sometimes time is spent more with one than other as relationships evolvesand interests develops (and moods ebb and flow)I always like going on walks with my eldest in the fact we chat and she is as sad as me going ooh look at the view!! Whereas my second DD would look at me like a wierdo! Therefore we do cafe time more often, things like that so I think it is normal enjoy your angel but do ensure you spend equal time with each and find out what makes them tick and go with it.

I did this with my DS when he was 2. I recently looked at some old home movies and saw how I had recorded him more than the others, boy did I feel awful.

I definitely go through phases of connecting more with one child than the other. I don't think it is favouritism but sometimes it is easier to get on with one than the other. DS is 7 and DD is 3.

At the moment it is DD that is easier. DS is having issues at school and being a bit of a monster at home. But, having said that, DD is very sneaky and knows just how to pull at the heart strings with the "I love you mummy" bit when DS has been a nightmare and I'm feeling fragile.
