Any teachers out there?

AIBU to ask??

We have an inspection on Monday and I'm really nervous!

We are doing traditional stories so the three little pigs.

What activities for year one would you do?

I thought ....

  1. Re telling story using props
  2. Character profile of the wolf

Outdoors...three groups of children building pigs house out if straw, wood and bricks (card orange rectangles) do not use bricks because of health and safety!

Objective - to be able to re-tell a story

Puppet making in groups of 4 (3 pigs, 1 wolf, plus you need a narrator really, but they don't have a puppet) and writing a script to retell the story.

Ours did that in year 2, but loved it.

If you haven't got a theatre, you can make one out of a large cardboard box.

They then perform them to the rest of the class.

You could have different groups - one doing a puppet show. One could do pictures / comic to tell the story and the other could do a little play and at the end each of the groups could show to the class - so you show different ways of telling a story.

Ps a 4th group could do percussion to show each of the characters to play along with the play?
