why odd? if they see a parent doing something they want to copy at that age, same with washing up, hoovering etc. That's why most toys for that age group are role play toys

Well I'm going to go against the majority on this one and say YANBU OP, to me nail painting is a bit strange on a child of that age regardless of whether they are a boy or girl, I just think its too young! I think if the OP was about painting a girls nails you would have got different responses tbh!

Glances at ds4 (4 years) who has currently got purple toe nails.... He would have had his finger nails done but he cant have nail polish for school so i just did his toe nails along with dd's toe nails (23mths) shrug its just dress up and play.
