Apparently because he(treasury minister) and his wife(a corporate tax lawyer)are losing it without moaning and will"just have to cope"Hmm whilst learning learn to "live within their means"Hmm we all should too.

Don't even want to think how much the Gaukes are coping on, bet it's a whole world away from 50-60K!!!!

YANBU

I remember Osborne trying, with a straight face, to say that losing child be felt meant "we're all in this together". Yes, cos we all have a £million trust fund to fall back on, wallpaper boy Hmm

Heard about this on the Wright show this morning there on £89000.

sparkleyangel · 03/11/2012 01:44

YANBU.

They are not 'wrong' as they're noticing they have less.

But they aren't 'in it with us' because most people not only notice but think "ShitWTFandHOWthFcanImeetthebills?" ergo, most people will lose something other than small change.

Omnishamble · 03/11/2012 01:57

sparkleyangel, he alone is on £134,565 according to what I've googled, she'd probably be on a lot more than that.

It wouldn't suprise me at all that what she's lost in CA she will more than make up by the top rate reduction to 45%.

He gives me rage!

Giglet · 03/11/2012 13:24

I wonder if the family business has seen a drop in sales since he became chancellor?

Prarieflower · 03/11/2012 14:10

I think "wallpaper boy" should be his official MN name.

I know someone who knows them. Last I heard (a while ago) she had either given up work or was working very part time in a non fee- earning role, so I don't think her salary is as high as some above are suggesting (does not take away from the point though if he is earning 90k or 134k).

I was cross that the BBC article about this had a section on "the facts about CB" which did not mention the NI credit at all
