Potty training child, "code brown", unless it is a solid poo the whole lot just goes in the nappy bag.

I used to use cloth nappies, but knickers are about 50p each. Life is too short.

Is there a trick to getting them off without covering the child in muck?

YANBU I threw away a ton of pants when DD was potty training. Just buy cheap ones.

YANBU. I used to throw away bedding covered in sick as I couldn't bear to scrape off the cold vom!

With pull ups you can rip the sides, so it is a lot easier to not cover the entire child (and yourself, and the house) with poo.

My current potty trainee has a habit of trying to run away with pooey knickers half off. This is not good.

Always chuck and same for my mindees too ( I always send a new pair of knickers home as cost about 25p) and means I don't have to touch pooey knickers ;-)

I'm not squeamish so I would just rinse them off and throw into 90 deg wash. YABU, then, I guess.

YANBU. Packs of 7 pairs are about £2 in Primark, I threw out a fair few pairs when DD was potty training. Far more pleasant to just buy more, even if it is a bit wasteful.

Mine wear Primark pants. I have always binned any that have been pooed on (which hasn't been many thank goodness).

I was mortified when a lady at nursery washed DD's pooey pants out and gave them back to me. I said in future to please bin them, she told me some parents got really narky if they binned pooey pants, how foul is that, expecting other people to wash out your childrens pants .

Dd had Boden pants when she was potty training, they all got washed

YANBU. Well, we're not at shitty knickers stage but I chuck shitty vests when DD2's nappy leaks. Why would you bother washing? My laundry bin is full enough!

My boys pre-school tell us if they have had an accident, but not if it is a shitty one! If the pants then happen to stay in the bag overnight for a couple of hours they definitely go in the bin! Also if we are out and about - life is too short to be carting around shitty pants.

I admit I don't cope well with poo

Usually yes, but dd pooed her favourite pair the other day and I saved them, even though it was gross.

I'm going to buck the trend here and say yabu. Dd has been trained for wees since May, but we just can't crack it with the poos, so I'd have wasted dozens of pants by now if I'd just binned them! I just tip the poo into the toilet, then bag up the knickers ready for washing. But I do use cloth nappies (for dd2, but also did for dd1), so perhaps I'm more at ease with washing pooey cloth!

I'd chuck out poo-ey ones if they had D&V (rather than wash at high temp) but otherwise just scrape off excess and soak (Napisan) prior to washing.
TBH I don't think mine had that many pooey ones .

DD had a few 'mishaps' after eating too many strawberries/red kidney beans/melon but I said to the Nursery just to bin them. (They would rinse out any that were soiled though.)

I flushed a pair of my red lacy ones at the cinema one time when I had an unexpectedly nasty dodgy tum. (Tmi).

I promptly went back into the cinema knickerless and sat back down.

Embarrassing.
