should make shoes to fit kids! We have always had a nightmare getting shoes for my DD1, and now my DD2 seems to be haing the same problem. Why do Clarks not make any winter shoes/ boots in an E fitting? I have spent hours today hunting fo something to replace her "Summer" shoes - which she has eventually grown out of and can't get anything that doesn't fall off her feet. Does anyone know if Start-rite make narrow fitting shoes?

the problem is like anything they will make loads in the common sizes which they know will sell well but often it isn't economically feesible to offer a full range in sizes at the extremes of size or width as they won't sell enough.

Doesn't stop it being frustrating though!

Surely it shouldn't be unreasonable to expect some form of winter shoes/ boots to be available though?

Kickers are not width fitted, but the boots are the equivalent of an E. DS also has E width feet. You need European brands, try Kids at Clinks for Kickers, independent shops for other European brands such as Primigi, Echo and Ricosta. John Lewis too. Imagine my whoops of joy when I got DD her first shoes last week and she was a 4.5 G!

Thats odd about the kickers because DS has F width feet but his kickers boots are to wide for him! Perhaps it depends on the style?

You may be aswell of ordering online for instore delivery if you want them to be fitted. Stores rarely have the full range available although should be able to order in for you.

I used to work for an independent shoe shop in Edinburgh that stocked a great range of both narrow and wide shoes. Usually European makes have a better selection in narrow and wide shoes although don't come with a width fitting as such IFKWIM. The best makes for narrow winter boots would probably be Petasil, Ecco, Gabor, Richter, Garvalin, Primigi and Superfit. Many of these brands can be ordered on line and you may find an independent shoe store near you that stocks them too.
