DH was working from home today, I was out. I came home and went upstairs to our en suite and there on the side of the bath is a tube of thrush cream (lid off). It doesn't live on the side of the bath, it belongs in the cupboard above the toilet that my younger DCs can't get to. Thankfully they hadn't seen it so there were no questions for me to answer. But they could have and more to the point I don't want to see it.

He sees no problem with leaving personal stuff like this around and while I'm not a prude I think some things should be put away!

Apparently he has thrush, according to him I gave it to him. I have no symptoms though. It's his way of letting me know he has it I think. Like he leaves the cereal box out when it's empty rather than putting it on the shopping list.

Exactly toothpaste. Or eldest DD would have been absolutely horrified to see it and know what it is.

And the bloody lid left off FFS.

If it is his way of letting the prudish you know that he has thrush and therefore you probably do too, then that is fair enough.

Take the hint and get treatment yourself. Be a grown up, not a prude!

This is a petty annoyance surely or is it representative of how things are in your relationship?
FWIW my DH is very messy. Sometimes it irks me but not enough to post about it. If he left something out I would barely notice it.

Yes it is petty, sorry about that. Had it been toothpaste or whatever then no problem. I just think leaving that kind of thing out with young DCs is a bit grim. Nothing else was left out, so it's not like it was in amongst a whole load of toiletries.

It's annoying when anything is left out on the counter, every fucking night I go and put the bath toys and the shower gel away after DH baths the DC.

I suppose I should be glad he bathed them.

Anyway. It's thrush cream. Just thrush. Kids can get thrush, it's not a wierdy shameful thing. If your DC has itchy bits I hope that they could come to you without feeling all about it and going to the doctors.

It's still medication. Do I want my 5 year old playing with it? No. I don't leave my excema cream out because I don't want her touching that. My 10 year old would probably ask me what it was and tbh I don't want to get into that discussion with her. I just don't think it should be out. But obviously I'm in the minority.

No he's not untidy. He's obsessively tidy. That's why I'm struggling to understand this. He's making a point but I have no idea what it is. Yes it's an ensuite but the DC occasionally use it, which I'm fine with.

Seriously who cares if a dc sees thrush cream?? its not like he left a dildo on the side, loads of people get thrush, no big deal.
