thumb sucking

my dd who is 14has had her slightly older friend stay for the weekend
all the time she was with us she sucked her thumb and slurpy noises that come with it
in the car she was rolling her eyes sucking her thumb
is this odd or am i being mean ?

I do think its slightly odd for her to be sucking her thumb publicly at that age (although my younger 15 year old sister does still Suck her thumb at night) but girls of that age will do things for attention or abit of a laugh. If she seems otherwise normal I wouldn't let it bother you (although the slurpy noises would rather annoy me :) )
